A leading 3PL seeks a Warehouse Team Manager - Nights with multi-temperature food storage and distribution experience to join its team in Stone. £30,000-£35,000pa including shift premium + bonus, pension and healthcare
The successful candidate will be heavily involved in the day-to-day running of this busy multi-temperature warehouse and the management of the large workforce needed to support it. You will ensure a well-organised operation across multiple warehousing functions including goods- in, put- away, replenishment, pick/pack / wrap and despatch.
This is a sector that can be affected by seasonal and promotional fluctuations so you will need to ensure that you and your teams can respond accordingly to meet demand. Key to your success will be your ability to effectively plan the warehouse resources and activities to ensure targets, SLA's, KPI's and stringent time restraints are met. We seek a commercially minded and analytically disposed logistics professional who is accustomed to managing within a sizeable chilled / ambient / frozen Distribution Centre and understands the operational demands of perishable food storage and distribution. Evidently, you will need to be capable of constantly improving operational and financial efficiencies and have the ability to prepare, analyse and provide feedback on weekly and monthly reports on inventory, stock control, manpower, consumables, variable costs and budget to actual. You will be used to working to stringent KPIs that are linked to performance and profitability. Likewise, you will be an advocate of best practice and will promote Continuous Improvement initiatives in operating practices and take responsibility for internal quality standards and BRC requirements. Good IT skills are also required including experience of working with modern-day Warehouse Management Systems. H&S and HACCP will also play a large part in your remit so it is anticipated that you will have an up-to-date knowledge of current regulations. The role also calls for a charismatic leader who is used to managing individual and team performance and has the capacity to develop the talent within the team. This is a permanent Night Shift role with a shift pattern of 6pm to 6am on a 4 on 4 off basis, however candidates will need to be able to offer the flexibility to cover other shift patterns as necessary.
