This is a leading third-party logistics firm with a growing portfolio of customers across a wide variety of sectors. The company is very profitable, stable and has a strong appetite for growth and expansion. It believes strongly in good management of its people and has a most positive culture.
As part of the extension of an existing contract, this is a newly created role to manage a new piece of business for a large customer. Based at an existing site, with an established management team, you will be required to help set up and manage a new business stream, related to e-commerce and direct customer fulfilment.
The client is a large retailer with a reputation for excellent customer service; therefore you will have a reputation for delivering very high levels of client satisfaction through well organised and carefully planned operations. You will lead a large team of 200 + staff and have direct responsibility for their performance.
This will involve the development of training programmes, continuous improvement work, budget management and client interface. This role carries full accountability for the business stream and would represent a good opportunity for someone looking to make a stepping stone into General Management.
Ideally your background will be in e-commerce, fashion retail or similar - but more important are your core competencies in the areas of leadership, process development, financial management and account management.
