Our client is a renowned global manufacturer operating in over 350 countries worldwide. This multi billion £ company has numerous facilities within the UK and now requires an experience Supply Chain Planning Manager with strong understanding of SAP to join the team in Northampton.
You will be a highly customer centric Supply Chain professional, capable of managing a small team with a career history demonstrating your solid understanding of operating in a Supply Chain/Procurement function in a manufacturing environment. The role requires you to manage the planning and capacity of the site, maintaining and driving performance metrics for delivery and customer service. Primary duties will include review of forecast demand data and the maintenance of inventory requirements whilst agreeing local production plans. You will oversee the purchasing and procurement of raw materials and the control of product availability and should possess high levels of competency in computer based systems, providing accurate management reports relating to the supply chain performance.
Leading your planning team, you will develop key supplier performance and ensure effective collaboration with colleagues across the business as well as external stakeholders. Your thorough understanding of supply chain management, production planning, scheduling, purchasing, supplier management and inventory control will ensure that production plans and ultimately customer orders are met driving continuous improvement initiatives and delivering increased performance. Candidates should possess a good working knowledge of SAP and will also ensure that stock write-offs are kept to a minimum by identifying and managing potential inventory obsolescence.
