General Manager £80-90,000 Plus an excellent package
This is a medium-sized logistics firm with a mix of operations covering warehousing and transport. The company has a substantial national network and operates on behalf of a wide spectrum of clients which are a mix of manufacturers and suppliers, mainly in the food & retail sectors. The company is profitable and has a heritage of good customer service and value for money.
In this role you will provide leadership to a business that is going through a period of transition, and be able to implement best practice working solutions. This is very much an operationally focused position; one that will require you to dig deep into the daily activities of the business, whilst also developing a road map for a new direction. Client relationships are strong and the company has a loyal customer base, but you will be required to work closely with partners to drive efficiency's and solidify these relationships.
The company needs an individual with considerable experience at Senior Management level who has a very strong ground in logistics operations. This experience could have been gained in a 3PL provider or a retailer and has multi temperature food experience. You must have managed large operations with a staffing complement of at least 600 people and experience dealing with unions.
