We are looking for an ambitious General Manager to take what is already a great distribution operation further to become a centre of excellence in our client's UK logistics network. If you are going to achieve this you will need to demonstrate brilliant employee engagement skills, a passion for excellent customer service and commercial common sense. Experience in retail distribution would be a benefit but is not essential.
The business is profitable, growing and investing in people, systems and equipment. Your role is to be the catalyst that brings this all together by leading the team to achieve challenging objectives, enthusing them to succeed and to take pride in being the best. You will need to demonstrate that you have achieved this in a unionised environment and hence understand how to work with the union to achieve a common goal.
As you can see the key requirements of this role are about your abilities to lead a team to success and you technical DC management skills are assumed to be first class.
